Yes, Giver.ug is 100% free for all users. We believe in removing barriers to giving and receiving within communities.
How do I know if an item is still available?
Items marked as 'Available' are still up for donation. Once someone has claimed an item, it will be marked as 'Pending' and then 'Given' once the exchange is complete.
Can I donate items anonymously?
While you need an account to use Giver.ug, you can choose the 'Private' visibility option when posting an item. This means only platform administrators will see your listing and can coordinate the donation to someone in need.
What happens if someone doesn't show up for a pickup?
If a recipient doesn't show up, you can mark them as a no-show in the system and make the item available again. If this happens repeatedly with the same user, please report them to our team.
Are there any items that aren't allowed on Giver.ug?
Yes, we prohibit certain categories including: medications, weapons, illegal items, hazardous materials, and adult content. Please see our Community Guidelines for a complete list.
How does the 'Make a Wish' feature work?
The 'Make a Wish' feature lets you post specific items you're looking for. Community members can see these wishes and contact you if they have something that matches your needs.
What should I do if I have a problem with another user?
If you experience any issues with another user, please use the 'Report' button on their profile or message thread. Our team will review the situation and take appropriate action.
